Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT PAC Endorses Larry Bucshon in Indiana’s 8th Congressional District

(Indianapolis) – Aug. 30, 2018 – Indiana Farm Bureau ELECT, the organization’s nonpartisan political action committee, has endorsed Rep. Larry Bucshon in the general election race for Indiana’s 8th Congressional District.

The district encompasses all of Clay, Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Greene, Knox, Martin, Owen, Parke, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Sullivan, Vanderburgh, Vermillion, Vigo and Warrick counties, and a portion of Crawford County.

“Rep. Larry Bucshon is very familiar with his district and has had a great working relationship with Indiana Farm Bureau. When our members are in Washington, D.C., he makes time to meet with them to discuss agricultural issues whenever possible,” said Katrina Hall, INFB director of public policy. “Rep. Bucshon’s work as a former member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to secure funding certainty for the Indiana Department of Transportation was much appreciated. Today, he continues important work as a member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce and several key subcommittees.

“At the federal level, there are many legislative decisions made each year that can impact a Hoosier farmer’s bottom line and how they run their operations. Agriculture is a large part of rural Indiana. We need elected officials who are willing to listen to and advocate for Indiana farmers in D.C. The farm economy and trade are the biggest things on farmers’ minds right now.”

ELECT endorsements are made through a multi-step process, starting with recommendations from Indiana Farm Bureau members who live in the district. This format stays true to the grassroots nature of the organization. ELECT’s endorsements are recognition of candidates’ support of policies that will foster a positive environment for agriculture and rural communities across the state.
